Holy Roller -- Beyond Foam Rolling

Sunday, July 28, 2019 -- 1:30-3:15pm

Your soft-tissue and myofascial system intimately connect your muscles, tendons, bones, nerves, blood vessels and organs. They keep a detailed record of your past, affect you in the present, and influence your future. While movement practices, such as yoga asana, help us to get into, learn about, and work these parts and systems. There is more work to do. This practice allows you to improve your health by learning how these systems work, and effective techniques to release the tension and restrictions held within...
  • Identify your areas of restriction
  • Release your restrictions with simple tools and techniques
  • Circulate blood, lymph, oxygen and nutrients throughout your body to promote healing
  • Flush out inflammation and accumulated acidic metabolic waste
  • Restore your health, mobility, posture, and sleep
  • Learn a little of the science behind, and the actual techniques to support and care for the most ubiquitous substance in the body - FASCIA and it's associated structures.

Beginner Power Vinyasa Yoga

Held on the first Sunday of every month -- 1:30-3:30pm

ON HIATUS FOR THE SUMMER -- We'll pick back up in September!

You can now join Shelley Lorenze on the first Sunday of every month as she breaks down the the basic postures found in a Power Vinyasa Yoga class at a slower pace.
Attending one of these workshops is a great way to ease yourself into joining us for group classes at the studio, or to refine your physical alignment to help you in the classes that you are already taking.
Power Vinyasa Yoga is designed for those who love an athletic, poweful, hot class. A regular practice will help strengthen the body, and develop increased focus and concentration. It has a flowing style that combines different levels of postures and is designed for students of all levels. The room will be heated to 85 degrees for all workshops in order to mimic the atmosphere in our regular classes. Each workshop will close with a brief meditation to help you leave feeling zen!
In these workshops you will:
  • Get an overview of the names of the most common yoga postures, what they look like, and how to do them
  • Get detailed instruction on safe alignment and modifications to suit your body in these poses
  • Get an idea of how a typical class at Suncrest Yoga is structured
  • Get a brief introduction to the concept of slowing things down with meditation
  • Have the opportunity to ask questions and work on your personal practice!
Dates: The first Sunday of every month (unless otherwise noted)
Time: 1:30-3:30pm
